一個真實的台資企業欲火重生的教練案例
When did you start learning ICA program? What motivated you?
It was mid. 2009 I participated a training session called “What is coaching?” A combination of curiosity and strong wish to learn something new, I quickly enrolled myself into ICA program which was highly recommended by nice people around me.
When did you graduate from ICA program? What drove you?
I graduated from ICA in Sept. 2011. I must admit that what really drove me behind was the strong wish to become a qualified coach. To achieve that I believe graduating from ICA is the first step. I know now that only graduating from ICA, after a series of challenging supervised coaching and the completion of those required documents, is a big feeling of achievement already. Yes, it was not so easy, but I made it, yeah!
How have you blended your previous/current expertise into coaching?
I consider myself a very lucky person. Because when I was learning coaching I happened to have a one year consultant contract on hand. The contract was to help a local company improve their bottom line. I took advantage of this consultant contract to practice my coaching skill by introducing coaching style leadership and conducting one on one coaching sessions with some key executives. The result was surprisingly extraordinary. They achieved a highest annual profit growth in company history. My previous expertise in general management helped them build new operating systems and new sales organization structure. At the same time, coaching helped employees find their unseen power within which in turn created unprecedented team energy and passion in doing their business. Thanks to coaching otherwise this amazing story will not be realized. With this result, it is not too hard to understand that my one-year consultant contract was extended for another 3 years.
Your dream about coaching?
I know there are many companies out there struggling for survival every day. I do not have a big dream but trying to help as many such companies as possible. After they have tried everything but fail, I hope they would consider coaching as their last resort.
